The UN International Day of Peace was celebrated enthusiastically at India Peace Centre, by organizing a 2 day Cultural and Social extravaganza at its premises on 21st and 22nd September, 2024. The event is the brainchild of Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal, co-founder of NBC, who has been organising it since the last 10 years.
21st SEPTEMBER, 2024
The event kicked off on the morning of 21st September, 2024, where a peaceful Handpan Music Meditation session was organized at 6:30 am at the India Peace Centre. Renowned Handpan artist Parvindar Singh took the audience on a captivating musical and meditative trance with his Handpan recital.
It was followed by a beautiful Multi-religious prayer which was offered by Dr. Tejinder Singh Rawal.
The highlight of the day was a friendly cricket match which was played by all peace loving citizens as a mark of camaraderie and friendship!

CYCLE RALLY FOR PEACE
On Sunday, 22nd September, 2024, a massive Cycle Rally for Peace was taken out from India Peace Centre. Over 250 cyclists of all ages cycled on a 7 km route, through prominent areas of Nagpur, spreading the message of Peace and Harmony. The Cycle Rally culminated at Gandhi Bhavan, in the premises of Department of Gandhian Thought, Nagpur University at LAD square. Refreshments and Photo booths were organized at Gandhi Bhavan for all the cyclists.
INTER-SCHOOL DRAWING COMPETITION
At Gandhi Bhavan, an inter-school Drawing competition on the topic “Peace” was organized. Over 200 students of all ages from 12 schools participated in the competition. Prizes were given to the best drawings in each age group. In addition, all students received a Certificate of Participation, chocolates and refreshments.
The student athletes of Nagpur Rope Skipping Association gave a thrilling demonstration of their rope skipping routine.
Over 500 citizens, cyclists and students participated in the 2 day Festival of Peace. Everyone went home enriched with the activities, and carrying home the message of Peace and Harmony.
The event was fully supported by Nagpur Book Club.
